I also have a mod (for 1.7.10 only, same link as above) which ports the major underground features of TMCW, such as much larger and more varied caves and ravines and new types of caves/cave systems, to that version (like the others it is non-Forge but I was able to make it compatible with the mods that somebody else wanted to use it with by adding a Forge-specific method. These are not Forge mods (I didn't even use MCP to make them, I just used a bytecode editor to change a few numbers this even works on snapshots) but should be compatible with most mods as long as they do not change the underground.

If you like caving I have a couple simple mods which revert the changes in 1.7, making cave systems much larger and more varied (a larger-scale comparison can be found here) and (for 1.12.2) mineshafts more common again (I'd also recommend setting dungeon chance to 16, making them as common as they were before 1.7 with these changes the underground is not exactly the same as before then but has the same caves, the same mineshafts (outside of mesas and chest loot) and the same amount of other underground features).
